On the last day of the needs assessment mission, the team moved to Vinica (FYR of Macedonia) and met volunteers of the Municipal Fire Protection Union of Vinica and Professional Fire Fighters Brigade.

The team also met the Vinica Municipality office for civil protection, the Regional Protection and Rescue Directorate (regional authority for disaster management) and the Red Cross of Vinica 19th of february

The team also visited the flood hot spots of river Bregalnitsa and his affluent, which overflew in 2015 causing damages to the houses nearby, fortunately promptly evacuated thanks to the local authorities, professional and volunteers fire fighters.19th of february 19th of february

The team concluded the mission today and would like to say a huge Thank You to all national and local authorities, volunteers and staff of voluntary organizations and international organizations met in Albania, Kosovo and former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia for their big support, strong committment and for the many information provided during the BE DRIN needs assessment

On the 20 and 21 of April, will take place in Tirana (Albania) the BE DRIN Workshop "Development of Roadmap for Strengthening the Volunteers-based Civil Protection Systems in Albania, Kosovo and FYR of Macedonia"
The Balkan partners will participate, together with European partners who will facilitate the workshop, in order to develop a roadmap on the following topics:

  • Volunteerism in Civil Protection: Key Issues and Challenges Facing the National Civil Protection Systems & Recommendations for a Roadmap
  • Identification of Gaps and Needs of Potential HOs for EUAV Certification
  • Definition of Priority Contents for Certification Training WP 1.3

The workshop will be implemented with the use of thematic work groups and non-formal discussions, and with a final plenary session for sharing work groups results and define the common Roadmap.
